I bought this refrigerator and at first loved it. 3 years into having it the compressor stops working. I contact LG but when I go to get the serial number a portion of it was missing. Apparently one of my sons attempted to peal off the sticker not knowing any better. Because I cannot provide the number LG wont fix my compressor. Under normal warranty circumstances I could understand this policy. But when you have MULTIPLE class action lawsuits and THOUSANDS of customer stories that are EXACTLY like mine it is obvious that this is ENTIRELY the fault of LG and they should care about their customers enough to rectify a faulty product that they sold knowing full well it is a faulty product I have very little money. I couldnt afford this refrigerator when I bought it and now I feel like I may as well have just lit that money in fire. Somehow I have to borrow money from a friend so I can get a working fridge. My dishwasher and washer amd dryer are all LG. These are the last LG appliances I will ever buy. LG sells faulty products and steals money from ppl. I cannot believe they will not fix something that THEY KNOW IS BROKEN BECAUSE OF THEIR NEGLIGENCE.

Have had multiple service calls provided several videos and LG refuses to replace them unless they go completely out UNACCEPTABLE in my book but what can you do. Unfortunately my experience has not been favorable. Fridge had issue at 3 years old had Lowes extended warranty tech found the cooling fan for fridge was never connected from factory. We thought the fridge was very warm to touch on exterior so Im sure that issue didnt help longevity. Latest issue now 4 years old compressor failure lost $$ in food second time paid appliance company to diagnose honest co informed us the sealed unit was under warranty for 5 years. Had to buy another fridge to live frustrating to get LG service help after continued pressure from me got service 6 days later and fridge is working again for how long?

It was great at first but after 3 years it broke down and LG hasnt contacted us its been 2 weeks since weve called and we have 4 kids in the house we have no fridge right now but we are using a cooler and have to buy ice every 3 days please contact us LG and bring some one to come fix our fridge we have a 7 year warranty left

Bad design for filter replacement.

I bought this refrigerator about 4 years ago. At that time Consumer Reports had it rated top dog. They couldnt be more wrong. I dont think they fully tested this model to discover the pitfalls it has. It totally quit in which I had to replace major parts to get it working again. All under warranty at that time. My biggest complaint is that the ice maker has had trouble making ice from day 1. The repair man here to fix the major problem said that because of condensation around the interior keeps freezing up and forming big chunks of ice that prevents the ice maker from working. He said the only way to keep it working was to remove the rear panel to get access to the area of the ice build -up. Then remove the ice build -up. NOT PRACTICAL for 21st century appliances. I definitely wish that I had purchased a different brand. Im afraid I am stuck with this unit because of the amount I paid for it. No more LGs for me.

My refrigerator broke not cooling but all lights on and fan blowing. Talked to customer service the agent was great. Setup a service time for a tech to come out. It was a few days later but fine to have it checked before getting a new fridge for $1600-$2000. Technician called and shielded up when he said replaced the compressor. The fridge is working great now. Email communication from LG was fantastic.

Great fridge... while it works

Love the refrigerator. Worked great for about 34 months. Then the ice maker broke. Called about warranty work for it and got nowhere. Luckily the compressor went out just a few weeks later and I lost all my food so I could get the ice maker fixed too. I still havent figured out how to get reimbursed for spoiled food with the warranty. Also the nearest place that would do warranty work was 3 1/2 hours away. After about a month it got fixed. Too bad I had to buy a new refrigerator after a couple of weeks so I had a place to put my food and at the time I had no idea if it would even get fixed. So Im down about $1500 and now have 2 indoor refrigerators. Poor initial service. But it did eventually get fixed.

The condenser failed after 4 years and there is nobody who can do the warranty work. I was quoted $1000 to fix the fridge out of network. Looking online this seems to be a common issue that LG has not addressed.

Bought this as a CR recommended best buy. Compressor noise is more noticeable than I expected. Moving things around to make sure its not a issue with either refrigerator contents or location. Well see if that works if not its going back. Also it would be helpful if one of the shelves was a split to allow for better organization. The vegetable drawers are too small.

I have had my LG fridge and freezer 17 months I bought a 3 year warranty. The door of the fridge appears not to be lined up door will not stay closed temperature will is having to be resent frequently. Fridge warm to the touch on the out site to hot at times. I have duck tape to keep door closed. Repair man has been here twice.. when repair parts came in he was unable to adjust the bracket to make the door level. And inside the fridge where the screw was supposed to go the screw hole was stripped But fixed it for the moment but let me know it not a permanent fix. It will happen again.. I would like my money back or a new fridge but now they will send another er man out to see if Im telling the truth. I will not buy from Lowes again.

My wife and I purchased this product from Sears in Oskaloosa Iowa in September 2021. The compressor has evidently went out and Ive been waiting weeks for someone to come and work on it as they told me it was under warranty. Now I get a reply from LG that they want to copy of the receipt which I cannot find. They told me to contact the store I purchased it from and I find that store is now out of business. I called Sears and They Cannot or will not help me get a copy of the receipt. So I have a three year-old useless refrigerator/freezer. No one seems to care about helping me get it repaired.

I replaced all my appliances with LG and so far the refrigerator failed the stove display has gone out the only thing left to fail is the dishwasher. I trusted the name of LG when I replaced all my appliances however with as much trouble that I have had with my appliances and the service I received I will not purchase this brand again.

There is supposedly a three year warranty but it stopped cooling after two years so I called customer service. First they said they would send a technician to look at it. I kept all in customer service and two weeks later they said they would send my information to the refund department. Two weeks later and still no call or email.

I have contacted LG Warranty Repair since July 16th 2024 here we are today 08.06.24 yes 21 days later and still have not contacted me about repairing our Refrigerator. I could totally understand if it was a dishwasher but come on.... REFRIGERATOR. We can not get an answer after several phone calls and even speaking with a supervisor as to when we will see a technician to get it fixed. I have even called several local LG repair facilities close to my area and all have stated that we do live within the LG allotted drive distance to have the service completed. All of the repair companies have told me the same thing the compressor is out and they even have the parts in stock readily available to repair. One of the repair centers even stated that LG warranty does not pay them to travel outside their area of service if LG would they would have it fixed several days ago. Even made a phone call to LG on Saturday 08.03.24 waiting on hold for over 24 minutes call was disconnected. We called back within 10 minutes gave the customer service representative all the information for our repair when she attempted to transfer us to a supervisor again was hung up on. This time the lady did call back and properly transferred us to a supervisor who stated that she would personally contact us by day end today........................ We shall see. NOT HAPPY AT ALL.

Fridge goes bad quickly

I am pretty disappointed that in under four years the compressor died. The fact that LG was willing and able to repair it for free was a true positive. Since the authorized repair man came in the refrigerator is working well. It is also sad that the ice make broke a few weeks before that and some of the plastic shelves are cracked. We are not overly hard on the refrigerator and are a bit disappointed in thr amount that has gone bad so quickly.
